A permanent vacancy exisits in Library Services for a progressive librarian to lead a large team in the design of a new collection and the development of innovative lending services.
Library Services is a large corporate library servicing the education sector including corporate clients and Education Queensland Schools providing high quality professional information and resource management advice to assist school communities to realise the Smart Classrooms vision in a 21st century learning context
As the Senior Information Resource Officer (Collection Development) you will have a thorough knowledge of contemporary library trends and practices. You will have a thorough understanding of collection analysis, design and development and the ability to determine client needs and respond proactively with innovative service delivery.

Applicants will need to demonstrate the following capabilities:
You will be an experienced librarian skilled in: collection analysis, design and development; library management systems; collection management of physical and digital collections.
You will be experienced in managing a dynamic team and will be skillful in managing change and human relationships through a change process.
You will have a good understanding of strategic initiatves of the Department and understand how the Library Service will play a pivotal contemporary resource role.
The Senior Information Resource Officer reports to the Manager Library Services.
