Due to increased popularity and growing student demand, our client now wishes to recruit an innovative,enthusiastic Lecturer in Interior Architecture.
Under the direction of the Program Director and/or Head of School, you will be responsible for:
Delive ring lectures and tutorials at undergraduate level.The development of lectures, learning material, assessment and participation in course development. Ensuring support for students .Under the direction of Portfolio Leader Research and/or Head of School, building upon their research track record to assist the University meet its research objectives through the establishment of research collaborations and the development of independent research.
In this role, you will be expected to take responsibility for the following:
Coordinate and teach core courses at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level in construction, studio and communication including preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, master classes, workshops and field excursions as required.Lead and conduct high quality independent or collaborative research which will result in high quality outcomes.
Ensure appropriate academic administration is undertaken including marking and assessment of student work, consulting with students, participation in moderation, maintaining appropriate records and providing final grades for students.Developing and delivering program-related events and aiding in the development and delivery of post graduate courses.Designing and preparing face-to-face and online teaching and learning materials including discussion groups.
Course Coordination - the management of course teams, supervising sessional staff and contribution to program planning and evaluation.Involvement in professional activities including consultancies and exhibitions.Presenting seminars and publicising research findings, maintaining and updating knowledge of new developments in the field of interior architecture and design by maintaining close contact with professional practice, industry partners, governing bodies and community organisations.Actively participating on committees (School, Division and University) and meetings.Consulting, collaborating and liaising with staff within the University,and at other institutions.Supervise Masters and Doctoral students depending on the appointee`s level of qualification
To be considered for this role, the following requirements are essential:
Possess a PhD including a professionally recognised Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree in Interior Architecture and a demonstrated commitment to further development and continuous maintenance of knowledge and skills
An ability to develop course/s and related material, which are academically relevant and which reflect pedagogical, student and professional needs and standards in the area of interior design.
Demonstrate an ability to contribute to the research and consultancy activities of the School - relating to interior design.
Possess a strong understanding of and/or experience of the discipline of interior design in an international context.
Demonstrate an ability and/or experience to teach in interior design studio, interior design construction and exhibition/production design courses.
Display a high level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team with a high level of oral and written communication skills, particularly relating to presenting lectures and tutorials and academic publishing and presentation.
Well developed skills in the development and delivery of professional and program-related continuing professional development initiatives would also be very well regarded.
