Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Visual Communication Design

Due to increased popularity and growing student demand, our client now wishes to recruit an innovative, enthusiastic Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Visual Communication Design (VCD).
Under the direction of the Head of School, you will be responsible for high quality rese arch to meet research objectives,grant applications and supervision of HDR students. You will contribute to course and program development, be teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs, contributing to the school’s governance and engaging with industry to advance scholarships.
In this role, you will be expected to take responsibility for the following:
Providing leadership in the development, management and delivery or undergraduate, honours and postgraduate courses.Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration .Coordinating and teaching core courses in VCD, whilst providing academic counselling to students.Leading and conducting high quality research. Being involved in professional activities including consultancies and exhibitions.Maintaining and updating knowledge of new developments in the field .Consulting, collaborating and liaising with staff .Representing the School and supervising Honours and Masters coursework and higher research degree students, including PhD’s.
To be considered for this role at Academic Level B, the following requirements are essential:
Possess a PhD in VCD,or relevant discipline, and a demonstrated commitment to further development and continuous maintenance of knowledge and skills. An ability to develop course/s and related material, which reflect pedagogical, student and professional needs and standards in a wide range of visual communication design courses.Demonstrate an ability to contribute to all research and consultancy activities, related to visual communication.Display a strong knowledge of and/or experience of the discipline of visual communication in an international context.Highlight an ability to teach in a wide range of VCD courses, with a particular emphasis on interactive design and web-based design allied to a sound knowledge of contemporary theory and practice in these areas.Demonstrate high levels of interpersonal skills,particularly relating to presenting lectures and tutorials and academic publishing and presentation.Well developed skills in the development and delivery of professional and program-related continuing professional development initiatives plus a previous involvement in community and/or professional bodies would be well regarded.
To be considered for this role at Academic Level C, the following requirements are essential:
Possess a PhD in VCD,or a relevant discipline, plus recognised significant in design.Display the ability to pro-actively provide academic leadership in developing course/s and related material, which reflects pedagogical, student and professional needs and standards in the area of VCD. Demonstrate experience in teaching in a wide range of VCD courses at all academic levels, including web-based and interactive design and web-based design with a sound knowledge of contemporary theory and practice in these areas.Provide a current and active research record of quality referred publications and research expertise in VCD practice and/or theory.Demonstrate experience in developing and maintaining strategic teaching and research relationships,Possess high level interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, including leadership experience and working collaboratively with colleagues, external professional and industry stakeholders.
Evidence of national professional and academic standing in the area of VCD and a demonstrated involvement in community and/or professional bodies would be highly regarded.
