Our client is looking for a Medical Registrar (BPT) to join their team!!
Here is you opportunity to work in a tertiary referral centre for Tasmania servicing a population of approximately 240,000 people and has 510 beds (including 86 day only beds).
The hospital provides all general and specialty medical and surgical services. The Hospital also receives trauma and specialty patients from the 3 other major hospitals in Tasmania.
On average, 12-14 patients per day are admitted over a 24 hour cycle. As well as these admissions, there are also admissions to the sub-speciality medicine, and total admissions under the Division of Medicine runs around 20-25 admissions per day.
Presently the Department of General Medicine has 10 staff specialists working between General Medicine and a sub-specialty.
The staff are organised into five units, each with two nominated consultants. .
The general medical registrar and intern work a one in five shift roster.
There is strong support from the consultant staff across both General Medicine and sub-specialty medicines.
The Hospital has full diagnostic services available and is in the process of upgrading the radiology reporting and viewing system.
The Hospital has training positions in all the sub-specialties including general medicine, a number of which are linked to Interstate training programmes.
General Medical registrars are rotated through Geriatric Medicine as well as spending time at the local private hospital (Calvary) and also attachments in rural Tasmania at the NWRH.
The overall pass rate for the FRACP exam is high, and all recent registrars have gained advanced training positions in their chosen specialities.

You must have either AHPRA registration or be eligible for the competent authority pathway and have 12 months recent work experience in a healthcare system comparable to that of Australia. This is an accredited training position and you must be on the BPT training program.......
